Creative Hobbies - Youtube Video Subject Material

Port Dalhousie Shoreline
Copyright- Linda Randall

I entered this photo in a contest and it won.
It's supposed to be published in Endless Journeys - The International Library of Photography sometime this year. (ISBN:0-7951-5247-7)
I just found out it was a scam.
I'm glad I didn't try to buy the book, it was $80.00
I feel sorry for the people that did order it!
I have become addicted to making youtube videos. :)
This week I made several movies about celebrities that I blog about on The Idea Girl Says and Idea Girl Consulting Word Press sites.
Today I made some special videos of pictures that I took back in 2008.
The Blue Ghost Tunnel
The Screaming Tunnel
Rodman Hall Arts Centre
Shaw Festival Theatre
Hernder Estate Wines
I figure its a way for people to see what some of my hobbies are.
I think it's cool to show your work to the world.
How about you?
Do you have any creative talents other than writing?
Show them off.
Why?
Because you want people to know how well rounded you are in creative works.

Getting Ready For New Years Eve 2009 - 2010 - Linda Randall

Getting Ready For New Years Eve 2009 - 2010 - Linda Randall

I still haven't made my list of goals for 2010, have you?

I did decide on what goals I want career wise, but my personal goals are still up in the air.

Where should I travel?

Will I get my USA Passport this year?

It will all depend on many things.

Money, time and whether or not I get a book published. :)

I don't plan to do any posting on New Years Eve, I'm taking some time off, but I'll be back in a few days.

Wishing all my readers a Happy New Year!

A Day of Rest and Relaxation - Future Ideas - Thanks to Theresa Meyers - Chuck Sambuchino

Merry Christmas!  Happy New Year!

This week is going by so fast.
I don't even know where to start.
I would like to say a special thank you to two people who have been very helpful this week.
I am excited to see many editors, publishers and literary agents following me on Twitter.
It's an honor and a privelege to be a part of their community network.
I plan to help the book selling industry with my ideas and marketing strategies that I'll be testing on
Today I sent a request to two Editors asking for authors to visit the youtube videos that I posted  on ideagirlconsulting channel and for them to leave a comment with their URLS.
Theresa_Meyers a book publisher from Blue Moon Communications on Twitter sent me a Tweet advising me that this would add value to my work.
So I sent an email to Chuck Sambuchino asking for his assistance with The New Writers Handbook 2007 and 2007 Writers Market.
I haven't been able to contact the Editors, so Chuck is helping me out. :)
I hope they like my idea, it would be cool for the book videos that I made.
I am shocked, after checking out Robin Jay's media book trailers, I found out they charge $500 - $1200 to make one!
Wow!
I made mine for free, as a fan of authors. :)
Maybe I can do this as a business in the future, now that would be cool and fun.

Added Automatic Site Map - It's Free

http://theideagirlsays.wordpress.com/  i just tried the share button on my site and its working :)

I'm trying new things today to increase my traffic to my site.

I'll let you know if it works.

They don't explain how or what you're supposed to do with your sitemap once it's generated, they constantly ask that you pay per month.

Well I need an income to do that. :)

The Idea Girl Says - another learning experience!

Evolution of a Sad Woman - Gale Laure - Mystery/Romance - The Idea Girl Says

Today I used Gale Laure 's Book Trailer as an example of Media , Youtube marketing. PumpUpPR on youtube made the videos.

It's a great way to increase your book sales.

I'm doing as much research as possible on the market, but it's a huge project, from a novice point of view.

I've sold millions of dollars worth of cable company products, now I will find a way to increase book sales.

It's my goal to develop a cool new marketing program for all authors to use, and to prepare my platform launch pad for my books once they are published.

In this way I will learn what works, and what doesn't.

I'm one of those people that stretches a dollar to its maximum potential.

I love freebies and I love finding things that are free to use, but add a lot of clout from a marketing perspective.

I share these golden tidbits of information here on Ideagirlconsulting Blogspot, but I write about Blogging and writing novels on The Idea Girl Says Word Press.

Witty Woman Today and Idea Girl Consulting Word Press Entertainment sites, are purely for fun and enjoyment.  A hobby and labor of love that is helping me gain readers, create a platform for myself as an author and teach others how to make good youtube videos!

I critique them and find ways to improve them in any way possible.  So far I've not gotten any negative responses back, for which I am thankful.

Sometimes I cringe, when someone begs for me to put their video on my entertainment site, but it's just not professional enough.

I have to be very tactful, encouraging and uplifting in my response. :)

2009 Goals Met for The Idea Girl Says - Idea Girl Consulting - Linda Randall

Here is another boring report, but I'm just so excited I reached 2 goals on Monday Dec 28th, 2009 by 12 midnight.

16,192 page views in one day on Idea Girl Consulting Word Press bringing the mass total to 378,978 (maybe I'll hit 400,000 soon! SWEET)

100,000 page views on The Idea Girl Says Word Press.

I did post a note on Twitter asking people to help me reach a goal of 10,000 hits in a day about 4 days ago, then it went 12,000, then 16,000.

Next weeks goal will be 20,000 hits in one day!

I hope I can keep the momentum rolling?

Last time I got all excited, they dropped down to 500 hits in one day. LOL

I'm still trying to find the right formula.

So far, it's this.

Post lots of different things that are related to your Niche, use tags, youtube videos, pictures, and let everyone on Twitter know what you are doing.

I also expanded my social networks on LINKED IN, Twitter, FACEBOOK, Groups, Yahoo Groups and I submitted some URLS to BING and visit other peoples sites, and comment with URL to blogs.
Oh yeah, and the BIG thing for me, was that Grant helped me set up a blog on The St Catharines Standard site, where I can post anything I want!

I was also invited to start writing movie reviews from some prestigious site (thats what the email says? LOL) and to guest blog for someone else.

I'm not sure I want to guest blog too much.  I've got so much on my plate already, with my new goals for 2010, to get something revised and sent to a publisher. :)

That was my strategy this week to increase my traffic to my two blogs.

Twitter Friend or Follow.com - Remove People That Don't Follow - Linda Randall

I was reading my Tweets and found something about Grammar Girl, so I went to her site.
She did a blog about Twitter Followers, and how it can ruin your bandwidth by having people that don't follow your tweets.

So I went to Friend or Follow. com and found out that I am following 496 people that didn't follow my tweets, so I unfollowed them.  It took me an hour to do, but I feel better, so now I can concentrate on reading my followers tweets and responding to them.

2007 Writers Market - The Bible for Literary Agents, Publishers, Genre, Free Lance Writing Jobs

2007 Writers Market - The Bible for Literary
Agents, Publishers, Genre, Free Lance
Writing Jobs

I am still reading The New Writer's Handbook
and I am taking a look at 2007 Writers
Market - Editor Robert Lee Brewer,
Assistant Editor Joanna Masterson.

I'm having trouble finding a pic of Joanna online,
so I'm asking where do you go to find
pictures of authors and literary agents?

I like to see who I am blogging about on The Idea Girl Says.

Kind of like a personal connection for the reader if they have an
idea of who wrote what
book and what article that I am featuring on the site.

This looks lovely while I type then when I publish it's all screwy? GRRRRR....
